Ready. Set. WRITE! (Week 9)

HOW I DID ON LAST WEEK'S GOAL
My goal was to read and I did. I finished To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han. Then I tried to read Otherbound by Corrine Duyvis. I really tried. For some reason, I just couldn't get into this book. The concept was unique and the writing good, but I never wanted to pick it up and when I did, even mid-chapter, I'd want to quit. So finally, I did. I feel bad for not finishing a book, but there's no point taking time on something I'm not feeling when there are soooo many books to read out there!

MY GOAL FOR THIS WEEK
Start revisions on JAR OF HEARTS. A little bit each day.

THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE I FACED THIS WEEK
I was at my parents this past week so it's really difficult to get anything done- which is why I didn't set a writing/revising goal. It was much easier to get some reading done.

PS- this post is shorter due to my reading goal, and also the cover reveal I'm taking part in HERE.

  1. I usually try so hard to finish books I start, but I have a few DNFs in my library. It happens. Nothing to feel bad about as reading should be, in part, a pleasurable experience. Hope you have a great week! Good luck with the revisions!

  3. I love a good 'ol reading week. I need to set one of those for myself soon. It always makes me come back to writing feeling more invigorated! Curious to see what you think of How To Love. I really liked it!

  5. Ugh, I hate not finishing books. It kills me, which is why I waste so much time finishing bad books then telling myself I'll stop next time, I swear. I'm getting better at it, though. Like you said, there are so many good ones out there. I loved TO ALL THE BOYS I'VE LOVED BEFORE, though not as much as her THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY series. The MC in TO ALL THE BOYS was so likable, and felt really real to me, very teen.

    Good luck on your revisions!

  6. I used to hate not finishing books, but that was before my TBR pile got so out of control. Once I got serious about writing I felt a lot less guilty because my reading time became really limited. Such is life I guess. That's too bad you didn't end up finishing though, especially since you set aside this week for some extra reading. Hope you had a good visit with your parents and that revisions on JAR OF HEARTS get off to a great start!

  7. I always feel guilty about not finishing books, too. In the back of my mind, I'm convinced I'll miss out on something if I don't. Usually I wish I had just gone with my instinct to abandon.

    Good luck with your revisions!
