I read a couple of great books this week! First, Wish You Were Italian by Kristin Rae which was such a fun contemp romance that made me wish I was in Italy eating gelato and seeing the Colosseum. Then I read Lady Thief by A.C. Gaughen which is the sequel to Scarlet. I didn't love it as much as the first, but still REALLY GOOD.
What I'm
I'm on a roll fixing these last issues with EPONINE which is good because I have a deadline: Monday- in case I make it into the New Agent contest. I'm still worried about this one major problem. Like, I think I'm fixing it but in the back of my mind I keep doubting myself. Stupid doubt, shut the heck up.
What Inspires Me Right Now
Not a what, but a who. My CP, RuthAnne, who had to practically beat me over the head so I could see that I was looking at this problem in my WIP all wrong. Thank youuuuuuuuuu.
What Else I've Been Up To
WHAT? I'm supposed to be doing other things besides revising and thinking about my WIP ALL THE TIME? Just kidding. I've had a couple of beach days and spray park days- basically trying to enjoy the nice weather with the kids while it lasts. I also helped mud my basement (we're finally developing it, thank goodness, since my three girls currently share one room). Anyway, the hubs regretting asking me to help because I suck and now he's got to sand and blah blah blah that's what you get for asking me to help when I suck at doing anything with my hands. Except typing.
What have you been up to this week?
Seriously, CPs are the best for talking us off cliffs and helping us see things a little differently when it comes to our WiPs. Having a sounding board is the best thing ever. Hope you're able to sort out this particular issue! So I'm curious... When you say beach, whereabouts are you referring to? Around here people go to Sylvan Lake or Gull Lake. Hope your'e having a wonderful week! :D
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the New Agent contest! I held off on that one as my MS isn't quite ready. Good luck making those last changes!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with those revisions :D
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weather!
Good luck in the contest! And glad you're getting some outside time next to revisions. As to the basement project. . .:) men!
ReplyDeleteI hate when I doubt myself. It takes up so much time! Good luck with the contest. I'm sure you're on the right track to fixing the problem. That's great that you have such a supportive CP who is there to help you with the writing process. I hope when I get to the stage where I can get a critique partner, I find one that's just as supportive and inspiring. Have a great week! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd now I'm desperately craving gelato. Sounds like a fun summer read!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear your CP gave you some direction on the issue in your book. Another perspective can really help when we lose sight of big picture. Been there for sure! Good luck polishing up EPONINE for your Monday deadline!
Good luck getting into the New Agents contest.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the contest! I love my CP, she's great at telling me how to fix things and stop being stubborn at times. Have fun revising!
