HOW I DID ON LAST WEEK'S GOALS
My goal was one chapter a day of revision on EPONINE. I did 9 chapters from Monday thru Thursday and then nothing on the weekend.

MY GOAL FOR THIS WEEK
Same. At least one chapter a week revision.

A FAVE LINE FROM MY STORY OR ONE WORD/PHRASE THAT SUMS UP WHAT I WROTE/REVISED
I just smile and nod and never tell him that I couldn’t care less how wonderful Eppie is because she’s not me and I’m not worth the shirt on my back that my mom had to steal to clothe me.

THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE I FACED THIS WEEK
Warm weather+beach+camping=wanting to be outside instead of inside revising. So I'm keeping my goal small and reachable.

SOMETHING I LOVE ABOUT MY WIP
I think I've got some really great lines here and there. So there's that.

  1. You managed to squeeze a lot into those four days. I'm impressed! I think sometimes our goals shift a bit during the week, but that doesn't really matter. You actually surpassed your goal by two chapters, so that's cool! I know what you mean about the temptation of being outdoors instead of indoors. I'm right there with you! :D

  3. Yes, the warm weather really makes it tough to knuckle down and work, doesn't it?! Sounds like you made great progress, though. Good luck with the goals this week!

  4. I don't blame you for wanting to be outside if the weather's nice! My goals keep changing too, but small goals are still progress :)

  5. That is such a great line! And don't be too hard on yourself - enjoy the nice weather. =) In Arizona, winter is our prime weather, so that's when we're all outside.

  6. Getting nine chapters revised is awesome! Sounds like you have a productive week even with the great outdoors trying to spirit you away from writing. I love the line you shared from your story! It says a lot about your character in a very short space. Good luck with your goal this week!

  7. Small, reachable goals = excellent! I have the opposite problem; my kids are always wanting me to be outside with them and I just want to curl up inside with my books, lol! :-p Great lines, btw, I love this project you're working on! Good luck this week.

  8. You have a lot of great lines! And yes - the beach and sun can be very distracting, can't they?! I'm having that problem too. Good luck with your goal this week! You can do it!

  9. Revising nine chapters is great progress—especially considering the lure of the outdoors in summer. ;) Good luck forgetting the beach and warm weather this week. You can do it!

  10. WOW--revising 9 chapters is amazing progress. Don't discount that, Mel! I love your lines but am curious--who is your novel told from POV-wise? I thought it was Eponine but maybe thats not correct. ahhhh well. Good luck with your goals this week!

  12. Outside time cut into my writing yesterday - I didn't even realize how long I was out, but suddenly it was two hours later. And no writing. Oh well :)

    Awesome progress on your revisions!
