Ready. Set. WRITE! (Week 6)

HOW I DID ON LAST WEEK'S GOAL
I finished going through all my CP's in-manuscript notes on EPONINE, which blew my goal out of the water. Yay for that. However, my work is not done...

MY GOAL FOR THIS WEEK
I have one major and two minor problems to work on. I'm not worried about the minor ones, but the major problem is BIG and it scares me. O.O

ONE PHRASE THAT SUMS UP WHAT I WROTE/REVISED
Done yet not done.

THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE I FACED THIS WEEK
See below.

SOMETHING I LOVE ABOUT MY WIP
Right now? I HATE IT. Just kidding. I don't hate my WIP, I just hate that it's taken me so long to GET the problem. Even now, I'm worried that even though I finally SEE what's wrong, doesn't mean I'll be able to fix it properly. *tears out hair*

  1. Girl, I feel you. finding a problem with your MS is easy. Fixing it and making sure it works better is the hard part. Good luck this week. Thanks for sharing. :D

  2. Good luck with those problems--both major and minor. The major ones are always scary at first, but you'll figure it out!!!

  3. Oh my gosh. I can totally relate to pulling out hair because you're not sure you can implement the big change you've *finally* figured out. That's what I'm going through too! I really hope we can both figure this out, bit by bit, without going bald from tearing our hair out. ;-)

  5. I am hearing you about your WiP! I am in the hair-pulling stage too and I groan UGH for hours trying to figure out how I really want to respin my beginning. BUT since I read Eponine (and loved it!), I would be happy to be a sounding board if you need to brainstorm/vent/whatever. Let me know. And have a great week!

  6. I've definitely had plenty of instances where I HATE my WiPs. There are lots of ups and down with these projects, and I think any writer who's constantly in love with their story is doing it wrong. But that's just me. ;-) Best of luck working out that major problem, Melanie you spoke of, Melanie! I'm rooting for you!

  7. "Done yet not done." I hear you on that one! I am entering week 2 of hiding from my hopefully minor WIP changes. I am convinced that once I really look at them they'll become major.

Hope you have a productive week!

  8. Firstly, way to go on blowing your goal out of the water! That's a lot of work out of the way! Secondly, it's a huge thing that you can actually see the problem in your WIP. I'm sure if you stew on it for a while the answer for how to fix it will come to you. I don't know what the issue is, but I know I've found myself backed into a plot corner or the like many times and the solution always turns up eventually, usually after pages and pages of heavy, messy brainstorming lol. Good luck tackling the problem, and I hope you'll be in love with your WIP again soon!

  9. It's tough when the task ahead seems so daunting and the doubt-monsters are around. But it's great that you *get* what the problem is now. If you're really stressed about it, maybe take a little break from it just to get some breathing room before tackling it again? I'll be rooting for you. You can do this!!
