It's week four of Ready. Set. WRITE! (week three for me) and a-here, a-we, a-go...
HOW I DID ON LAST WEEK'S GOALS
I finished my read-thru of JAR OF HEARTS and I have a list of revision notes ready.
MY GOAL FOR THIS WEEK
Start my FINAL revision for EPONINE. Do at least one chapter a day.
A FAVE LINE FROM MY STORY OR ONE WORD/PHRASE THAT SUMS UP WHAT I WROTE/REVISED
Pleasantly surprised.
JAR OF HEARTS was written last November during NaNo and I'm pleasantly surprised because it's not as much of a mess as I thought. Although it does need LOTS of revisions. (Don't they all?!)
THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE I FACED THIS WEEK
Nothing major except I have so many books to read that it's hard to find time for writing. Alas, I'm gonna have the same problem this week, too.
SOMETHING I LOVE ABOUT MY WIP
I love the IDEA of this WIP. Hopefully with revisions I'll be able to execute the idea properly.

I'm glad you enjoyed your Nanowrimo manuscript. Mine are always such incredible messes. A couple of them I'm still in love with the IDEA of, but I think they may need almost complete rewrites. Good luck with your goals this week!
ReplyDeleteI love that feeling of re-reading a first draft and realizing it isn't so bad. Good luck starting your revisions!
ReplyDeleteIt's always a relief when you find an old WIP isn't as bad as you expected! :P Hope the revisions go well! :)
ReplyDeleteYay for realizing JAR isn't so bad after all. Best feeling!!! Good luck starting your revisions and keeping on target.
ReplyDeleteHeh. I have so many books on my shelf to read too. Some from 3 years ago.
ReplyDeleteAlso, yay for JoH being a pleasant surprise! Great goals this week, Melanie. You can do it!
Yay for final revisions! You're coming around the home stretch. How exciting! Good luck with your goals this week, Melanie!
ReplyDeleteYay for being so close to the end! Every time I read your title I hear the song Jar of Hearts in my mind. Love it! Good luck this week.
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling about balancing reading/writing. Especially when I get tired late at night. I start getting scenes mixed up and I think did I write that or read that???
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
I often have trouble balancing reading and writing too. It's either all or nothing in both areas for me. Best of luck with your Eponine revision, Melanie!
ReplyDeleteA chapter a day for revisions is a pretty great goal. That feels doable and should help you progress pretty quickly too. I always find that my reading tends to suffer when I write more, which bums me out. For whatever reason, I've read more books this month than in past months, which makes no sense because I'm writing more. Here's hoping you get to do both things that you love this week! :D
