Ok- here I go. I have started a blog. Gasp. And I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing so hopefully it doesn't look like crap. Give me some time.
Anyway, I was going to wait until I actually published a book before starting a blog but I figured- why not? I need to get my name out there right?
See my problem is two-fold. (Actually I have a lot of problems but that's a discussion for another day.) First of all, I like my privacy. I have resisted blogs, twitter, facebook, myspace, etc etc etc, to preserve my privacy. But I figured it can't hurt to get my voice out there when I'm trying to publish a book. Second, I am kind of anti-social. I'm not out there meeting people and getting literary contacts like I should be. So I figured this is step 1. Probably no one will ever read this. But hey- you never know who might. And even if no one reads it, I think it will be good for me to get all my thoughts down about the writing/finding an agent/publishing process. I've barely gotten into it and it's already making me crazy. Wasn't it Dumbledore who told Harry that he uses a pensieve because his mind gets so full he thinks it might burst? Since I don't have a pensieve, I'm using this instead. Then maybe I can get some sleep at night. Ha, yeah right.
So this is my first post. Welcome to my new blog. Tomorrow I'm heading to Montana for a girls weekend (yay!) so I won't be back until next week. Hopefully after a long discussion with my sister-in-law Barb whose had a blog for ages, I'll be able to make this look somewhat presentable.
